Spiritual Self-Care

Meditation or other breathing techniques is a great way to improve mental clarity. If you can’t find the space to meditate, writing in a journal helps get your innermost thoughts onto paper. Taking some time to review your highs and lows and to focus on your inner feelings in that moment is a big aspect of spiritual self-care.

Some helpful tips when focusing on your spiritual self:

  • Focusing on your spiritual self helps you identify what you are feeling in that moment: good or bad.

  • This self-care helps you think on what you need to heal in general and what may or may not be working for you

  • This helps you not feel so drained and to focus on some goals you have for yourself

Some tips to get you going:

  • Going on a retreat

  • Walking in nature

  • Write a gratitude list

  • Meditating

  • Breathing in and out

  • Writing in a journal

Examples from others:

“Every time things get stressful at work; I take a five-minute break just to breathe.”

“Every day after I get home, I will take a walk around the block.”

“I write in a journal every day of things that went good and bad, just so I no longer had to keep it in my head.”
